Dining in Barre

 

Few towns in central Vermont have the number and variety of restaurants and bars as does Barre.

Select from steaks, seafood, gourmet chinese, authentic Italian, pub fare, Mexican, and a superior selection of pizza and sub shops.

If you like Filet Mignon or Prime Rib often served aside local live entertainment, look to the weekend specials at The Quarry Kitchen & Spirits, Ladder 1 Grill & Pub, and the Cornerstone Pub & Kitchen. You'll likely find Surf & Turf and other seafood entrees worth your attention at these locations.

Arandas, also on North Main Street, serves authentic Mexican cuisine.

Mulligan's Irish Pub is a longstanding local favorite, Foxy's, Gusto's and Tally's for the classic American bar, often with live entertainment, where you'll likely discover a superior selection of apps and entrees to accompany a greater selection of beer than you would likely imagine.

For authentic Italian cuisine, try Camp di Vino, just outside of town.

Basil's Pizzeria & Restaurant, Pearl Street Pizza, and Simply Subs serve their own specialty pizza with a distinctive flair.

If you like Chinese, Asian Gourmet serves a chef prepared menu of sushi, traditional and house originals. Bamboo Gardens is also in town, just down South Main.

 

What's For Breakfast?

For a morning breakfast try the locally famous Maria's Bagels for bagels baked fresh on the premises. Another local favorite for coffee and fresh baked morning pastry is Espresso Bueno.

If you like cats, Kitty Corner Cafe serves breakfast and pastry.

Simply Subs and Tasty Bites Diner, recently opened, also makes their own donuts and morning pastry with coffee to go, aside the classic breakfast, complete with hashbrowns or stack of pancakes.
